Still OPTI receives ACGME initial accreditation

Published by Sondra Sanford on September 1, 2015 |

Still OPTI is excited to announce the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Institutional Review Committee (IRC) has taken action to move Still OPTI from pre-accreditation to initial accreditation status. This distinction recognizes Still OPTI as an accredited institutional sponsor in the single accreditation system.

Pre-accreditation status is achieved when an institution or program currently accredited by the AOA submits an application for ACGME accreditation. Initial accreditation is only achieved after a thorough review of the institution’s application for accreditation, including accompanying organizational charts, committee minutes, and other documents that reveal the functionality of the institution as a sponsor for one or more graduate medical education programs. Still OPTI’s new accreditation status is considered effective as of July 1, 2015 and will remains in effect for two years.

Still OPTI thanks each member institution for adding great value to the quality accreditation assistance we can provide through shared resources, strong leadership through teaching and hands-on training, and a passion for osteopathic principles and practice in graduate medical education. Our members help us fulfill our mission to deliver the highest quality community-based graduate medical education and osteopathically-focused training designed to meet local healthcare needs. Our members make the difference!
